Tails or The Amnesic Incognito Live System is an operating system – Linux-distribution, based on Debian, specially designed to ensure the anonymity and privacy of personal information.
Tails is a continuation of the popular in some environments project OS Incognito. All outgoing connections pass through the anonymous Tor network, and all connections suspected of not being anonymous are blocked.
Tails is primarily intended for booting from a LiveCD or LiveUSB, without leaving digital traces in the computer system from which it is booted. The main sponsor of Tails is the Tor project. Tails was used by Edward Snowden to expose the PRISM program.
In the new Tails, Tor Browser has been updated and this browser is denied access to local networks. Unsafe Browser is used instead of Tor Browser to access local resources. The 32-bit GRUB EFI has been added and now Tails can be loaded on some tablets with Intel Bay Trail processors. License: Freeware.
