Pidgin is the new name for the multi-protocol Instant Messenger GAIM for Linux, BSD, MacOS X, and Windows. The program has extremely nice features – chat encryption and especially support for almost all instant communication protocols: AIM (Oscar and TOC protocols), ICQ, MSN Messenger, Yahoo! Messenger, mIRC, Jabber, Gadu-Gadu, and Zephyr, which allows you to use only this program to talk to your friends anywhere in the world, whatever means of communication they use.
In addition, you can download and apply dozens of plugins that will increase the functionality of the program, add new features and capabilities. On the official page you can also find many visual themes for Pidgin.
