Three viewing modes are available in the Adobe InCopy 2022 software: Story mode, Galley mode, and Layout mode. The Story mode is for viewing and altering material in a screen-wide, word-processor view without the formatting associated with publishing pages.

The Galley mode view presents the text in a word processing-like style, but with line numbers and the same line breaks as in the layout. Both the Galley and Story views disclose content that was obscured in Layout view and indicate the names of the style sheets that were used to format the text; however, they do not display the actual formatting. The Layout mode displays the entire page design layout, including all text and picture formats.
