SpeedCommander is a file manager with very rich functionality and rich file handling capabilities. SpeedCommander has a stylish design, built-in support for viewing over 80 types of graphic files and a full-featured ftp-client.
Of the not very common functions we can mention the built-in support of compression type ARJ, ZIP, LHA, RAR, CAB, ACE, GZIP, TAR and UUE, after which the files can be encrypted using the reliable DES algorithm, and the file names can be be password protected.
SpeedCommander has a built-in text editor with syntax highlighting in various programming languages. Another feature of SpeedCommander is the built-in SQX archiver, developed by the author of the program, which achieves better compression than WinRar.
SpeedCommander also has a highly developed system of using keyboard shortcuts.
